Unigine 'Heaven' DX11 benchmark video.

All Topics It's a sign of the times when you really have to look pretty close at a graphics demo video to notice how impressive it actually is. All in all I think this video shows pretty decent advancement potential in Gaming engine visuals under DX11.

Too bad we'd need a PC upgrades or the next gen. of X-box to see a game make use of this potential. It's a good thing I'm a little more patient than I used to be I guess.

Yeah, that's really pretty.

It's not heaven though; the streets are not paved with gold. ;-)

Nice... but I wish the guys who designed that scene spent a little more time fleshing out the details.

1. It looks completely abandoned. All the townspeople fell off because there were no guide ropes on those stupid little bridges.

2. Why do they need a windmill? How much water or grain can there actually be on that tiny rock?

3. The cobblestones are about the size of someone's head. All the horses probably leapt off the side after breaking their knees on them.

Seriously. This is stuff that any decent modeler would catch right away.

Wow that's very cool. It also helps to hit the full screen button, as well as HD, to get the full effect.

Incidentally, I do see ropes on the bridges.

LOL, those are huge cobble stones. I guess it's for the shadows, because this thing is all about light and dynamic shadow. (and depth of field effects and maybe some textures) Now I want to see some rockets smashing into those houses and the dragon.

This one's pretty interesting. It shows the tessellation on and off and wire frames of what's going on.

So when do you think computer graphics will be *truly* photo-realistic.
