Hawt or Nawt?

Cui bono? A "concept" notepad device from MS. Think of it as maybe like the Surface but for netbooks I guess? Concept is kind of neat, but is there any on screen keyboard options or is it all hand writing? Looks like it would be a good ebook reader too.

What the crap? Now there's a MS phone? Are they turning into a hardware company now?

Nawt.

Talk about vaporware... sheesh. They don't even have mockup model. Same with the phone. M$ is just trying to compete with Apple. They should just leave well enough alone and stop embarrassing themselves all the time (like as they have with the Windows 7 House Party ads).

I'm leaning toward "Hawt", myself. Sure, sure, it's a concept (and therefore vaporware), but it's a concept which shows some thought about how someone might use the device -- and thus something over which people can have discussions or use as a guide to actual implementation.

Thanks for the post.

Did MS Surface start out as vapor ware or did they reveal it with a working prototype? Sort of seems like they actually had video of people using it.

It does seem well thought out with what it does and how it all interacts. It's a lot smaller than I got the impression from just the rendering. I was thinking full 9x12 or something like a note pad thing like this would be sized. It's more like 8" tall or something, which isn't bad. I was thinking with the other size that it would be hard to hold with one hand to use the camera.
